Resolve, review, and close
Resolving a work order is not the final step in WorkOrder V3. SolarSENS separates execution from approval so teams can confirm that work is complete, evidence is adequate, and the operational outcome is acceptable before closure.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Use this workflow when action has been taken and the team needs to record the result. The work order moves from active execution into review, then either to final closure or back for rework.
When to use this
Section titled “When to use this”- field or remote work has been completed
- evidence, notes, and shutdown detail are ready to be recorded
- a supervisor needs to confirm whether the issue is truly closed
- a reviewer needs to return work for correction or more detail
Step-by-step workflow
Section titled “Step-by-step workflow”- Open the work order and confirm the issue has been addressed.
- Update any fields that changed during execution, such as assignee, due date, or corrected issue details.
- Record resolution details such as man-hours, end time, and potential loss where relevant.
- Add or verify shutdown information if the work affected availability calculations or impacted equipment.
- Resolve the work order so it enters the review stage.
- A supervisor or admin reviews the work order, notes, and evidence.
- Approve the work order to move it to
Completed, or return it asAction Neededif more work is required. - If the work is returned, the assigned technician updates the record and requests re-review.
Expected outcomes
Section titled “Expected outcomes”- completed work is documented with a clear operational outcome
- review happens in the platform instead of through side-channel approval
- closure quality improves because evidence and notes can be checked before sign-off
- rework is visible and traceable when a job is not ready to close
Caveats and operational notes
Section titled “Caveats and operational notes”Resolvedmeans the work is done and waiting for review; it does not mean it is finally closed.Completedis the true closure state after approval.Action Neededis a rework state, not a rejection of the whole work order.- Assigned technicians can resubmit work for review after
Action Needed, but closure authority remains with the reviewer.
