Portfolio and Operation Overview
Start here when you need to move from a fleet-wide view to the plant that needs attention today. The normal operating path is:
- Open Portfolio.
- Use the portfolio, country, date, and site controls to narrow the view.
- Open Operation Overview to compare sites, devices, alarms, or performance.
- Select a site to open its plant monitoring workspace.
Available plants, tabs, and actions depend on your account’s access.
Portfolio
Section titled “Portfolio”Portfolio gives you a high-level view of your fleet, including:
- estimated revenue
- site status
- production metrics, including total power, installed capacity, daily effective yield, budget, overspill energy, and overspill power
- a site table
- a map overview
- portfolio, country, and date selectors
Use the site status chart to filter the site table, then select a site to drill into plant-level detail.
💡 Start here when you need a quick “how are we doing today” glance across all sites. The map view is particularly useful for spotting regional patterns — multiple sites in the same area showing similar issues suggests a weather or grid event rather than site-specific problems.
Operation Overview
Section titled “Operation Overview”Operation Overview is your fleet triage workspace, with four tabs: Overview, Devices, Alarms, and Performance.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Use Overview to scan sites and select a plant. It includes:
- portfolio and country selectors
- a date selector
- site status and plant-list views
- production cards
- inverter, sensor, and BESS status views where the plant equipment supports them
- alerts
- a yield chart with 7 Days, 30 Days, and MTD period choices
- a Site Overview table
Select a site from the table to open its plant workspace. Status labels include Normal, Fault, Offline, Export, and device-specific Normal/Fault/Offline variants.
Use Columns to choose which Site Overview fields are visible. Exports follow the visible columns and their displayed order; Site Name remains included.
Use Saved Views to keep a reusable combination of columns, sorting, client and brand filters, equipment sorting, portfolio, and country. You can create up to five named views, rename or overwrite them, and pin up to three beside the Site Overview title for one-click access. SolarSENS marks edits that have not been overwritten and asks before an action would discard them. The most recently used saved view opens on another device; choose the default view when you want the complete unfiltered column set.
For storage-enabled sites, the overview can include BESS power, availability, and state-of-charge context. A battery with no current power reading is shown as unavailable rather than idle; check the latest-update value before using it for triage.
Devices
Section titled “Devices”Use Devices to filter fleet equipment. Devices are grouped into tabs such as Inverters, Strings, Sensors, AVA Loggers, UPS, Meters, Inverter Station, and SCB. Depending on the device group selected, you can filter by plant and status.
Status choices include:
- Inverter: All, Normal, Fault, Offline
- String/device: All, Disconnected, Offline, Underperforming, Curtailed, Half, Normal
Use this view to narrow the fleet down to equipment that needs inspection. In the Summary tab, string-status counts are daily status classifications for the selected fleet view. They help you decide which plant to inspect next; they are not a live disconnected-device list.
The default string-status bands are:

| Disconnected | 0–30% | Start investigation in String Analytics and confirm against device status, alarms, and telemetry. |
| Half | 30–60% | Check whether the same strings or inverter area repeat across recent days. |
| Underperforming | 60–80% | Prioritize plants or areas for follow-up when the count is unusual for that site. |
| Normal | 80–100% | Treat as the normal comparison group for the selected result. |
Curtailed and Offline are status/context classifications, not percentage bands.
⚠️ Use Last Update to confirm the date of the status result before acting on a count. A string that shows “Disconnected” from yesterday’s evaluation may have recovered today — always check the timestamp.
If your operation needs different status thresholds, contact AVA support to review the site configuration.
Open String Analytics when you need to inspect which strings contributed to a status count. The map colours in String Analytics help group lower and higher scores, but they are not a direct copy of the Summary status columns.
Alarms
Section titled “Alarms”Use Alarms to filter fleet-wide alarms by plant, device type, device label, and date range. The table shows plant, device, device type, alarm type, fault code, status, severity, start time, end time, and available actions. See Alarm Triage for the complete workflow.
From this table you can expand a row, export to CSV, acknowledge or clear an alarm, or open an Add Work Order form where available. The alarm and work-order records are separate; see Alarm Triage for the boundary and Work order lifecycle for the work-order side.
Performance
Section titled “Performance”Use Performance to compare a portfolio performance chart across period controls, with CSV download available. Metric options include Specific Yield, PR, PR Corrected, and Actual Yield/Budget, plus short-period views such as Last 3 Days, Last 7 Days, and Last 14 Days.
💡 When comparing two plants on the Performance chart, make sure they use the same PR variant. Comparing base PR for Plant A with corrected PR for Plant B will show a difference that has nothing to do with actual performance.

Continue to a plant
Section titled “Continue to a plant”Select a site from the Overview table or another site list to open Plant Monitoring. There you can inspect the plant overview, blocks, information, device hierarchy, device details, and plant alarms.
