Plant Monitoring
You’ve found a plant worth investigating — now what? Plant Monitoring is your plant-level workspace. Use it to check current status, inspect equipment, compare block performance, and decide whether an issue needs an alarm review, a work order, or a deeper analytical look.
Select a plant
Section titled “Select a plant”The plant selector at the top shows the current plant and lets you switch to another one. Switching plants keeps you on the same tab where possible.
The standard monitoring tabs are:
- Overview
- Block
- Info
- Digital Twin
- Device Overview
- Devices Details
- Alarms
Storage-enabled plants can also show BESS. Some accounts also see Work Orders or Manage. Available tabs and actions depend on your account’s access and plant equipment.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”The Overview tab is your first stop: a high-level snapshot of the plant’s current production and performance.
It includes status, last-update information, and key production and performance cards.
⚠️ Status and Last Updated provide a snapshot, not a continuous-health guarantee. An “Online” status that was evaluated an hour ago tells you nothing about what just happened. Always check the timestamp before acting on a status label. See Device health, alarms, and string performance before comparing status with alarms or analytical results.

Compare a selected power meter
Section titled “Compare a selected power meter”When the plant has multiple selectable power meters, use the meter selector beside the chart controls to inspect one meter at a time. The selected meter is retained in the page URL and restored when you reopen the page. Selecting a different plant or changing to an unsupported chart combination returns the selector to the plant-level choice.
Use the selected-meter view as follows:
- Day + Power shows the selected meter’s power series at the chosen display resolution.
- Month switches to the yield view and shows daily values for the selected meter, including yield, irradiance, derating, grid import, grid export, and load energy where returned.
- Year stays in the yield view and shows the same measures rolled up by month.
The month and year views are period summaries, not another display of interval power. For the meaning of power, grid direction, and accumulated energy, see Interpret load and grid flow.
For a storage-enabled plant, the day power view can include BESS active power and fixed-period strategy bands. Month and year views can include daily or monthly BESS charge and discharge energy. Use the chart legend and displayed units to distinguish battery power from accumulated battery energy.
Use Block to compare performance across plant blocks side by side. Pick a date and view, then export to CSV or choose from the following charts:
- Specific Yield
- Yield
- PR
- Overspill
- Soiling
- Unavailability
You can view results by Day, MTD, or Month; some options may be unavailable depending on the selected block or date range.
💡 Block comparison is most useful when you suspect a hardware or wiring issue in one part of the plant. If one block consistently underperforms its neighbours, it’s a stronger signal than a single low-PR reading.
Use Info to review and, where your account permits, edit:
- plant details
- PV details
- inverter details
- grid tariff
- operation and maintenance details
⚠️ Changing configuration here affects downstream calculations. If you’re correcting a tariff or capacity value, confirm the change propagated through after the next processing cycle.
Digital Twin
Section titled “Digital Twin”Use Digital Twin to see a visual plant/device hierarchy and string-level context, including string, capacity, current, voltage, tilt, azimuth, status, and a legend, with CSV export available.
Start here when you need to locate a specific part of the plant — find the inverter area or string group you want before opening device details.
Open String Analytics when you need a comparative current or historical string analysis.
Device Overview
Section titled “Device Overview”Use Device Overview to browse plant equipment by category: Inverter, Sensor, Logger, Meter, String, Inverter Station, SCB, UPS. Use the tabs and device tables to narrow down the equipment you want to inspect.
💡 This is the fastest way to find a specific device when you already know what you’re looking for. Start here instead of scrolling through Digital Twin if you just need a quick status check on all inverters.
Devices Details
Section titled “Devices Details”Use Devices Details when you need more than the summary device table provides. This view includes device information and fault details such as severity, description, alarm start, alarm end, and duration.
Use it to decide what to investigate next, and confirm the time range before treating a listed fault as current.
⚠️ A fault or status shown here is not the same as an analytical string-performance result. Device Details shows what the device reported; String Analytics shows a calculated comparison across strings. They can disagree, and that’s normal — but it’s worth checking both before assigning a root cause.
For a storage-enabled plant, use BESS to review battery units as cards or a list. The fleet summary shows the available unit count, charge or discharge direction, net active power, average state of charge, and latest update when those readings are available. Individual devices can show active power, state of charge, energy totals, availability, and energy management system status.
A missing power value remains unavailable rather than being presented as idle. Confirm Last Update before treating a displayed state as current, and use the CSV export when you need to preserve the device readings and timestamp for further review.
Alarms
Section titled “Alarms”The plant Alarms tab is the plant-scoped version of the fleet alarm workflow. Filter and inspect alarm rows, expand details, export data, and use acknowledge, clear, or Add Work Order actions where available.

When comparing this plant’s current values with analytical views or reports, use Where calculated results appear to align the grain and unit.
Work Orders and Manage
Section titled “Work Orders and Manage”Work Orders and Manage are separate workflows rather than ordinary telemetry monitoring. If you do not see these tabs, they may not be available for your account. For the Work Orders workflow, start with Create and assign.
