Alarm Triage

When an alarm needs attention, start with the alarm list. Use fleet scope to find patterns across plants, or plant scope to investigate one site. You can narrow the list, inspect the alarm context, acknowledge or clear the alarm, and export the filtered result.

  • Use Operation Overview → Alarms to search across plants. Filter by plant when you want to focus the list.
  • Use Plant Monitoring → Alarms to work within the selected plant.

The tabs and actions available to you depend on your account access.

The alarm view opens with Active alarms selected. Refine the list with:

  • alarm status, severity, or category
  • plant, when you are working at fleet scope
  • device type
  • device label
  • a start and end date

After selecting a device type, the device-label list narrows to devices in that category. Clear a filter to return to the broader list.

Use Search alarm categories when you know the kind of condition you want to investigate. Type part of a category name, then select a result from the suggestions. The selected category appears as a removable chip; clear it when you want to search without that category.

Alarm category and alarm severity cannot be combined; selecting one clears the other. Use category when the equipment condition is the most useful starting point, and severity when urgency is.

The list is paginated. Select a column heading when you need to sort by fields such as alarm type, status, severity, or start time.

Depending on the screen width and the alarm payload, a row can include:

  • plant
  • device label and device type
  • alarm type and fault code
  • status and severity
  • start and end time
  • available actions

Select a row to expand its details. Details can include the fault description, alarm type, inverter fault code, and other context supplied with the alarm. A missing end time means the alarm has not supplied a clear time in the current result; confirm the status before treating it as resolved.

Use the row action that matches the work you have completed:

  • Acknowledge records that the alarm has been seen.
  • Clear records that the alarm condition has been cleared.

After either action, SolarSENS refreshes the list. Acknowledging an alarm does not mean the underlying condition is repaired, and clearing an alarm does not replace the operational record of what was done.

Select Export to download the current alarm result as a CSV. The export includes the filtered list and fields for plant, device, device type, alarm type, status, severity, start time, end time, acknowledgement status, and inverter fault code.

If there are no alarms in the current result, there is nothing to export. The export may take a moment because SolarSENS retrieves the full filtered result before creating the file.

Use Alarm Analytics when you need to compare frequency, duration, or attributed energy loss over a time range. Use Plant Monitoring to inspect the affected equipment and its surrounding context. When supported for the affected plant and equipment, use String Analytics for a string-level comparison.

Where available, Add Work Order opens a work-order form from the alarm view. The alarm and the WorkOrder record remain separate records unless your deployment explicitly provides a link; carry the alarm’s plant, device, type, and time context into the work-order description when creating one.
